I’m super excited to say I’ve been working for some time with my friend David Ogletree to promote WME Training, an AdWords and PPC-in-general training program that’s customized to the individual. Whether you’re a beginner or you’re an old hat at AdWords, David is an industry leader, has a ton of experience and has a little something for everyone.
I honestly don’t pay my experiences with AdWords their due course. I still manage PPC accounts for clients – these days, I’m doing mostly Facebook ads – but AdWords was an important part of my advertising experience and remains so. The six-month learning curve that was involved in AdWords was one of the most challenging of any metrics curve I’ve dealt with since becoming an advertiser. Either way, I definitely don’t regret it.
Here’s the thing: If you want to learn how money really powers marketing – and how the tools we use to market to people truly affect conversion – AdWords is the way.
Plenty of friends come to me wanting to learn digital marketing, and I ALWAYS say start with AdWords for this reason. You’ll learn the terminology and get the tools down that inform every other area of your marketing if you can master that learning curve.
There’s another side to AdWords as well, one Dave is taking on in this kickass free course. What really affects your bottom line with Google AdWords is not the mistakes you make, but the opportunities you miss as you start to figure out what you’re doing. Missed opportunities = missed sales = missed revenue. The answer is to keep reading, keep learning, and take in the information that will allow you to embrace those AdWords opportunities and make some better choices.
